HICKORY, NC - Ron Parker and Kyle Strickler were honored as the 2011 NDRA Champions Saturday night at the champion's banquet held in conjunction with the Carolina Auto Racing Show (CARS) at the Hickory Metro Convention Center.
Parker made a clean sweep of the evening as he was honored as the NDRA Road Show presented by Heintz Performance champion as well as the $5,000 champion on the City Chevrolet League Championship Series. Parker also swept Dirtwars presented by Goodyear events in late September to put a cap on his remarkable season that saw the Belwood, NC native capture over 25 feature wins. It's all about this crew, said Parker to the crowd. They work their tails off and I am just the lucky one that gets to drive.
Also honored as the inaugural champion of the NDRA Modz was Mooresville, NC's Kyle Strickler. Strickler captured all six Roush Yates Performance Parts Road Show wins to collect the $2,500 champion's check.
