NDRA Crowns 2009 Champions At Inaugural Awards Ceremony

(Concord, NC) – In an atmosphere already filled with racing memories, the National Dirt Racing Association claimed its own piece of history by conducting its inaugural Awards Ceremony at Charlotte Motor Speedway this past Saturday.   With the historic super speedway in the background, the NDRA recognized its weekly track champions, honored the top ten finishers in the National Points, and crowned Hunter Peacock as its 2009 National Champion.

The Top Ten in the NDRA National Championship included:  Hunter Peacock (1st), Winky McGee (2nd), Gary Puckett (3rd), Mitchell Coble (4th), Matt Long (5th), Timbo Mangum (6th), Jason Pack (7th), Jason Walls (8th), Brandy Baker (9th), and Kent Peckham (10th).

The Weekly Track Champions included Brandy Baker (Lancaster), Robbie Stevens (311 Fastrack), Kent Peckham (Friendship), Gary Puckett (Carolina), Winky McGee (Rolling Thunder), John Eller (Antioch), and Adam Yarbrough (Cleveland County).

Several teams and NDRA member tracks were represented at the ceremony.  Marketing partners Goodyear, City Chevrolet, Heintz Performance, GM Performance Parts and Wells Fargo were recognized for their contributions to the series.  The festivities ended with a brief preview of the 2010 season, with more specific details set for announcement in the near future.  On the behalf of the series, we would like to extend our thanks and congratulations to everyone who help make our first season the success that it was.
